The Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management is tailored for students aspiring to cultivate a comprehensive senior management skill set and leadership qualities across various domains, such as business administration, management, general administration, and business communication.

Entry Requirements

Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions). Or Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

International students must:

  • be at least 18 years of age

  • participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The course entry interview will also assess whether students can use digital technologies

  • have an IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:

    o educated for 3 years in an English-speaking country; or

    o successful completion of an English Placement Test at IELTS level 5.5.

    *Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

Training Arrangement

Students are expected to attend classes for a total of 14 hours per week, along with an additional 6hours of structured online study. Furthermore, students are required to dedicate approximately 5 hours per week to additional study, which includes general reading and research for assessments.

Enrolment fee: $300 (non-refundable to be paid on application)

Assessment Method

Assessment will occur through a variety of methods including knowledge questions, projects and observations. Each assessment task is included in the training and assessment schedule, showing the weeks during which it is to be completed. Regarding where students complete their assessments, the following applies:

  • Knowledge questions are completed in class or as part of the online assessment sessions.

  • Projects and observations are completed in class.

Assessment tasks:

  • reflect real life work tasks

  • are required to be performed within industry standard timeframes as specified by assessors in relation to each task

  • are assessed using assessment criteria that relate to the quality of work expected by the industry

  • are performed to industry safety requirements as relevant

  • utilise authentic workplace documentation

  • require students to work with others as part of a team

  • require students to plan and prioritise competing work tasks

  • involve the use of standard, workplace equipment such as computers and software

  • ensure that students are required to consider workplace constraints such as time and budgets.

Course Credit

Student can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning. If student is granted course credit, this will affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. College will advise student in writing of changes to fees or course duration as a result of the credit. Student will also be issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
